Lance Blomgren joins blogosphere

Lance Blomgren, author of Walkups and Corner Pieces has a new website. The new format reprint of Walkups is getting attention. Very favourable review in the new Broken Pencil: “Lance Blomgren’s Walkups was originally published in 2000. Nine years later and this short, so-called ‘novella’ is every bit as original and ingenious as when it first appeared…. It’s a shame that so few works of Canadian fiction in the last nine years have been as ambitiously original.”

Also Lance will be presenting Operation Northern Shield—a poster and chapbook project—as part of Magnetic Norths, a group exhibition exploring various conceptions of Northern history, sociology and aesthetics as well as the role of the North on our collective imagination. Blomgren’s text-based project will be exhibited alongside works by Glenn Gould, Lawrence Wiener, N.E. Thing Co., Tim Hecker, Michael Snow, Buckminster Fuller and Zacharias Kunuk, among others.
